Sogo Ishii is one of those seldom recognized filmmakers. He reinvented filmmaking in Japan through the lens of the punk rock scene. This is the one film that cemented his influence in Japan: starring several then-popular local punk rock bands, and with the unrelenting style of a complete outsider of traditional cinema, he just put expectations of what a movie should look like and be about on their head. It is not an easy film to watch (hope you don't get motion sickness), but it's celluloid history.
